NEWS OF April, 2006

From March 31-April 1, 2006, the Office of International Affairs held a cultural trip for overseas Chinese and international students to a famous attraction in Taiwan, Ali Mountain.


The group visited Long-Yin Temple and learned more about Taiwanese culture.

Generalate Officer, S. Paula Damiano, of the Sisters of Providence of St. Mary of-the-Woods, IN visited Providence University on April 10, 2006. The Sisters of Providence founded Providence University and therefore have always had a special interest in and love for the school. The University is currently sponsored by the Archdiocese of Taichung.

On April 19, 2006, Dr. Stephen Krashen, Professor Emeritus of Education at the University of Southen California gave a spectacular speech at International Conference Hall entitled“The Comprehension Hypothesis”

Dr. Gerardo Rocha Vera, President of Board of Directors, Rodrigo Alarcón Jara, Executive Vice President from Universidad Santo Tomas of Chile had a pleasant meeting on April 20, 2006 with three Providence students who applied to study at Universidad Santo Tomas as exchange students
